God saw that they were tired
and a cure was not to be,
so He put His arms around them
and whispered, "Come with Me."
With tearful eyes, we watched them
as they slowly faded away.
Although we loved them dearly,
we could not make them stay.
Their lifes were not an easy journey,
with many stops along the way,
to give themselves to those in need
so they could make it through their day.
They played many roles throughout their lives,
spouse, mother, father, child, sister, brother, soldier, and my friend.
There is an empty place in our lives
as we see such an important life end.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands are at rest.
But sorrow is softened in knowing
They trusted in Jesus Christ, they are Blessed!

GOOD FRIDAY
SERVICE OF TENEBRAE
March 29, 2013
The Service of Tenebrae, or “shadows” is a commemoration of the passion of Christ. The most significant feature is the gradual extinguishing of the candles following each reading. The bare altar and unvested furnishings emphasize the starkness of the events recalled. The candles represent the apostles and all followers and the larger candle represents Christ. The dramatic high point occurs with the complete darkness and the loud noise at the death of Jesus.

On this night we remember and celebrate the final supper Jesus shared with his disciples in the context of Passover
Saturday, March 9 - " We had over 90 brothers and sisters for our pot luck supper to welcome our guests from Sheldon United Methodist Church. Oh what a variety of delicious food!
Following the meal we were treated to an inspirational drama of the Living Last Supper - "Lord is it I".
This event, which reveals the holiness of all subsequent meals eaten in his name, institutes the mystery of his abiding redemptive presence in the church’s celebrations of the Lord’s Supper, or Eucharist. This evening also marks the beginning of the most solemn and joyful celebration of the entire Christian year.We enter what St. Augustine referred to as “the triduum during which the Lord died, was buried, and rose again.”
The Circuit Riders provided music to enhance the presentation.
